Meeting minutes 11/16/18

Financials: Lorena, treasurer Budget Update: See the financials sheet, if interested. We have collected about 60% for the fine arts contribution from families.  Please encourage them to give as soon as possible so we can continue to support our teachers.
Fundraisers: Box Tops: Keep bringing them in. We have a very close classroom competition between 3 classrooms.  I may do a submission before the end of 2018, depending on how many we collect that expire in 2018.
Smith’s: If you haven’t already enrolled your Smith’s card, please do so through your Smith’s online account. CWFS receives a portion of your spending at no cost to you! We received a check for $317.60 (which includes Caring Cents)
Amazon Smile: When using Amazon, make sure you go the Amazon Smile website and designate CWFS as your place to benefit. A portion of what you spend comes right to the school.  You can shop on your regular Amazon account or the App and put things in your cart and then make sure to check out through Amazon Smile so CWFS gets the credit! We received a check for $70.34
Caring Cents: You can enroll your credit cards in this program and each time you use your credit card, it will round up to the next dollar amount and that amount will be donated to the school. You can set a cap amount for each month so you only donate whatever amount you are comfortable with.
Yearbook 2018-2019: Jessica Holtey Yearbook committee has decided year books will be purchased through The committee will put the books together online.  You will be able to customize 2 pages for your child’s yearbook, if you want to.  You can pay for more customized pages if you so desire.  The deadline to order is 03/27/2019.  FTO will not be ordering extra yearbooks to have in-stock for anyone who does not order.  Please order your yearbooks online as this is the only way you will get one!!!! More information to follow via email, etc..
Upcoming Events: Thanksgiving week: Tuesday is a regular school day. The rest of the week we are off!
December 18th-20th are collapsed days.
Art & Poetry: Wednesday, December 19 5:00 – 7:30 pm
December 21: Winter break begins. No school until Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
Art & Poetry: Classroom Coordinators: This meeting went really well. All classes are covered except Ms. Kelly’s class. 
Cookies and drinks: We are asking each family to bring 2 dozen cookies. We are asking for nut free and we could use some gluten free items as well.  Drinks provided will be small waters, Coffee, and Hot chocolate with topping bar.  Cookie sorting will take place beginning at drop off on Wednesday, Dec 19th. A volunteer sign-up sheet will in the hallway prior to that day.   
Food Trucks: Cheesy Street will be on sight for you to purchase food. We are looking into another small truck or cart like hot dogs, pizza, etc. If anyone has suggestions, please let Kathy or Chelsey know ASAP!
Silent Auction: We need 1 person per class to coordinate this effort. Bidding will end at 6:45.  All bid sheets need to be in the MPR at 7:00 and then families can begin to pay for artwork that they won.
Decorating: Inside: Monday, November 19th 10am-12pm We will begin the inside decorations. We will continue on Tuesday, November 20th at drop off until we are done.   
Outside/Courtyard: Thursday, December 6th and Friday, December 7th we will be doing the outside lights and decorations starting at 10 am.  Sign up sheets will be put up in the front hallway. 
December 11-14: We will continue and finish up all last minute decorating. Watch for email announcements of exact dates and times. 
MPR: Wednesday, December 19th: move tables and place table cloths and everything else needed that night in the MPR.
Clean up: Thursday, December 20th. After all the classes have gone through each classroom, the classes need to be cleaned up and purchased artwork brought to the MPR.  We need as many people for this as possible.
Next meetings:  Friday, December 7, at 11:00 am in the Multipurpose Room.  This meeting will focus entirely on Art and Poetry!
Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11:00 – We will begin planning for our spring event.
